Calcined Coke

      Egyptalum calciner was started-up in 1982 currently produces 115000 tpy. The capacity of the calciner is 140000 tpy . The type of calciner rotary hearth (dish). Calcination is done by heating Anode grade green petroleum coke,usually 1200 - 1250 °C to improve it's chemical and physical properties which increase real density, reflects the strength and conductivity of the coke. The quality of calcined coke is especial im- portant in manufacturing Soderberg Anode Paste or prebacked Anode blocks. Calcined coke quality depend upon:- Green Coke quality,- Coke Heat up,- Bed Temperature and Residense Time . To have a good performance of the paste or prebacked Anode should have the Calcined Coke quality attached.
