    Egyptalum's primary smelter currently produces around 195,000 tpy ( Soderberg Technology 145,000 tpy - Prebaked Technology 50,000 tpy ). The company plans to raise the production quantity to 245,000 tpy by the year 2004 ( by adding 50,000 tpy Prebaked Technology ) . A possible future expansion to 350,000 tpy with the modification of all Soderberg Technology to Brebaked Technology is also being considered.
