Egyptalum is the sole producer of primary aluminum in Egypt and one of the largest producers in North Africa. During the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the company sold 295,000 tons of aluminum worth $870 million. In September 2025, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) to conduct a feasibility study for a $3 billion alumina refining plant in Egypt. In January 2026, the company announced a $1.3 billion investment plan across two projects aimed at increasing production capacity by 300,000 tons per year and launching an aluminum foil production line.
